America's Cup racing delayed for 2 hours from Wed scheduled start time

Media are being advised in Valencia that tomorrow's attempt to start racing in the 33rd America's Cup has been postponed for two hours.

Strong winds are currently blowing offshore in Valencia and while these may abate later in the day, race officials have already moved to delay the start time.

A further decision will be made in the morning at around 0830hrs local time. Locals put the chances of any racing being held at 30% and would mean that for a second scheduled race day, no racing has been possible.

Today winds were blowing at 20-25kts, both teams declined to go out training, but said they would have raced had there been a start. The final decision as to whether conditions are too severe for racing lies with Principal Race Officer, Harold Bennett
