Australian Olympian, Anthony Nossiter retains his Australian Finn Championship title, winning with a day to spare!
Nossiter's training partner, Nik Burfoot was leading the regatta until the half way mark where Nossiter found his form winning the final six races. Nik Burfoot won the silver medal, also with a day to spare. Lucky for the pair as they couldn't stay for the last day of racing regardless as they had to get to the Etchel Nationals in Lake Macquarie.
After Nossiter, Warwick Hill had the best second half of the regatta, finishing second in the last three races, however, James Patterson's consistency throughout the event saw him winning the bronze medal.
One to watch in the future is the young newcomer to the Finn fleet, Oliver Tweddell who won the final race to finish 4th overall.
A happy Oliver said, 'It's a great feeling crossing the finish line first, it's a nice way to end the regatta. I'm hooked on Finn sailing now and hope to represent Australia at the Finn Gold Cup this September in USA. I just need to put on some weight before then'.
