Wild Child continues to lead Solo Global Challenger in Solo Trans Tasman race
by Bob Bower on 29 May 2002
Geoff Lavis reports tonight's Penta Comstat positions as:
Wild Child - 33o 29' S 169 o 15' E
Solo Global Challenger - 33o 47' S 170 o 47' E
He calculates the days run for Wild Child of 120 miles averaging 5 knots and 60 miles (by chart) ahead of Tony in Solo Global Challenger
(From the positions though, Phil could be better than 70 miles: 92' longitude (= 75 miles based on same Long/Lat scale at Woy Woy) West and 18'=18 miles North from Tony and also this puts Wild Child about N76 o W from Solo Global Challenger)
Looks like we are all along for the ride with young Phil. He has done remarkably well in the tough conditions.
