Marine Finance Industry Australia (MFIA) in collaboration with Marine Queensland (MQ) has released its sales training pilot to its dealer and broker network. The pilot program aimed at providing the sales sector with key tools to enhance the way they do business.

“The initial stages of the program have passed with flying colours,' said Julian Rewi. 'Don Jones (MQ General Manager) and I have been working at developing a process that will benefit the industry, we indentified that sales, is one of the key areas.

“We anticipate an increase to all areas of the boating industry. Associate sectors such as manufacturing, marine mechanics, chandlery and marinas will benefit in the long run if the front line in sales is boosted. It's a perfect circle.” said Mr Rewi.

The vision of the program is by early next year to be ongoing within the association for its members.

Mark Taylor from Kingsway Training has been contracted to run structured workshops in three hour sessions covering objection handling, telephone techniques, how to build long term relationships, goal setting, negotiation skills and the difference between 'Selling and Serving'.

“The most pleasing aspect of the training workshops has been feedback, especially from a prominent business owner within the industry that he was shocked at how bad his sales group actually were. So for now we know we are on the right track,” Mr Rewi said.

For more information on workshop dates or information please contact Julian Rewi on 1300 761 639.
