Fischer Panda 4000i and 6000i Diesel Generators - The next generation

by Andrew Wilson on 14 Oct 2009
The New Fischer Panda 4000i Diesel Generator Fischer Panda

The new Panda 4000i and 6000i Generators are the first of the next generation of compact, freshwater cooled (engine and alternator),super silent and powerful Fischer Panda Generators. With its modern and innovative inverter technology, the generator supplies extremely stable voltage and frequency.

The 4kW is more than sufficient to easily start a diving compressor such as the Bauer Junior II. The generator is fitted with the highly regarded sound insulation and complete water-cooling. The Panda 4000i has been especially designed to be light and compact.

The innovative new Fischer Panda 6000i Generator uses variable speed technology (optional on the 4000i) which allows the speed of the engine to be regulated and adjusted according to the electrical load that is connected. The high starting performance for inductive load makes the generator ideal for starting an air conditioning unit or even running a diving compressor. The clean sinus wave form with its accurate voltage and frequency regulation ensures that a stabile and efficient supply of power is available for sensitive electronic devices.

The variable speed technology takes full advantage of its modern diesel engine designed to run at lower speeds and fulfill current emission standards. The speed of the engine is regulated and adjusted according to the electrical load which makes it economical to run.

Currently most generators on the market operate with a fixed speed of 1500 or 3000 RPM for 50 Hz (alternatively with 1800 or 3600 RPM for the 60Hz market). High engine speed means higher exhaust emissions. Even when operating with low loads, these are required to operate at higher speeds. This has always been a big concern with regard to the engine lifespan, glassing of the cylinders and high oil consumption. For this reason engine manufacturers have started to reduce the engine speed on several engines to meet the new emission standards.

A new control panel and engine controller has been designed by Fischer Panda for this generator technology. The control panel allows the generator to be operated from the cabin and displays current status and technical data. The new panel is compact so it can be installed on small dashboards.

The low weight (79kg for the 4000i and 111kg for the 6000i) and compact size LxWxH: 595x390x410 for the 4000i and LxWxH: 520x440x550 for the 6000i, allows the generator to be installed in very tight spaces.

• Extremely high starting capacity. Perfect for a Bauer Junior II or an air conditioning unit
• 230V / 50Hz. For your complete onboard power system
• Compact and light. More room for other things
• Super silent sound insulation capsule. You can relax while the generator runs
• Graphical Display. Easy to use
• Pure sinus wave, higher frequency and voltage stability. Improved performance

Test the difference and enjoy your time onboard with more power and comfort. The generator is not only for yachts, a vehicle version is also available for your 'home on the road' within your motor home.
