BYM News says no to post sale name change
by Marine Business News on 5 Oct 2009
After a week suspension of its online news service Gibraltar based Marian Martin (Publishers) Ltd has today advised it is to continue its European focused online news service BYM News.com during negotiations for the sale of the website.
Earlier this year BYMNews.com was advertised for sale because of the illness of CEO Aldous Grenville-Crowther, but was late withdrawn from the market as his health improved.
A week ago the site ceased publication of online news and released this statement ‘Marian Martin (Publishers) Ltd has withdrawn its free, online, news service BYM News.com and offers the website for sale.’
Cathy McLean from Marina Martin (Publishers) said last week ‘We are just like any other news site except we have not exploited advertising.’
The site owners have advised they are anticipating selling the website to a magazine that does not have its own already.
Today McLean said ‘We have no interest whatsoever in selling the site to anyone who wishes to rebrand it.’
