Mariner Boating Holidays renews commitment to Variety Splash

Jav Greaves, a member at Sandringham Yacht Club and crew member on Phil Coomb’s Dekadance has joined the marketing team of Mariner Boating Holidays in Victoria. Jav will be based at the company’s office in Docklands.

In the short term Jav will concentrate his activities on two major projects, the Mariner Boating sponsorship of the Club Marine Range Series to be sailed on Port Phillip Bay over the summer, which is linked to involvement with Yachting Victoria and the Variety Splash.

A goal has been set to raise $20,000 for Variety by selling tickets to the yachting community in a raffle with the first prize donated by Mariner Boating Holidays; a trip for two to the Croatia Yacht Rally in September 2010 including international airfares and worth more than $15,000.

There are three Victorian crews in a total of ten participating in the 2009 event including the winner of the raffle from last year John and Sandy Lindholm, so there will be plenty of talk about sailing in Croatia when these crews come home.

The second project involves the Mariner sponsorship of the Sandringham Yacht Club member get member promotion, which offers a trip for two to the 2010 Aegean Rally to be sailed in May 2010, which combines the Greek Islands of the Dodecanese group with the coast of Turkey between Bodrum and Marmaris. Every member who successfully proposes a new member to the club goes into the draw for the trip along with the proposer and seconder.

The trip has a similar value to the Croatia rally and has attracted enormous interest from club members at Sandringham. The recent intake saw 100 new faces at the club, an all time record for winter and nearly 100 more than for the same period last year.

Mariner Boating recently released their 2010 brochure, which can be downloaded from the website, www.marinerboating.com.au. Alternatively call Jav Greaves on 0413 704409 or 03 9670 4030
