Festival 09 - A Maritime Spectacular for a Maritime City

Festival 09 is to be held on the Newcastle Harbour and Foreshore (NSW) on Sunday 11 October 2009.

It is an opportunity to view a colourful and dynamic art-scape that can be enjoyed from many strategic locations along the glorious harbour foreshore.


Festival 2009 has a program of events and activities; on water, on land and in the air.

People can expect an event of international standard to celebrate the Newcastle Maritime Centre’s
1st Birthday! AND the Newcastle Port Corporation celebrates 210 years of commercial operations in Newcastle; the first commercial port in Australia.

Celebrating 50 Years of the Vintage Yacht Regatta
QCYC will host the event in July at Shorncliffe The Queensland Cruising Yacht Club (QCYC) will host the 50th Vintage Yacht Regatta from 18 to 20 July 2025 at Shorncliffe, celebrating five decades of timber yachts, traditional seamanship and spirited racing on Moreton Bay.
