Nimbus 365 Coupe. charlie walter

The Nimbus Boats group is Scandinavia’s leading boat manufacturer. Brands within the group include Nimbus, Storebro, Paragon and Ryds. Nimbus and Storebro are amongst the most respected boat brands throughout Europe.

The Nimbus Coupe range have a modern traditional style with sliding patio doors to the cockpit, large overhead sliding hatches and are known for their excellent helm stations. Nimbus has just released two exciting new models for 2009 being the 335 Coupe and 365 Coupe. These boats feature side access doors at the helm station, leading to a walk around deck on the starboard side. In addition the swim platform, cockpit and saloon are all on the same level making an ideal combination for entertaining. Two separate sleeping cabins and a separate shower stall in the bathroom add to the outstanding features of the boats.

The Nimbus and Storebro Commander range also feature side access doors and walk around decks, plus internal access from the lower helm to the fly bridge, a rare feature on any boat. The newly released 435 Commander was described by Britain’s highly respected ‘Motor Boat and Yachting’ magazine as 'the perfect fly bridge cruiser' and 'drop-dead serious'.

Part of the Nimbus design philosophy is to create boats that are practical, functional and genuinely ‘marine’ with fine woodwork and detailed finishes. Superior design and style, safety first in all aspects, a feeling of true quality and perfection, extraordinary comfort and interior design. Design, Safety, Quality, Comfort. These values have become the guiding stars which makes owning a Nimbus mean more to boating than just being aboard.

The appeal of offshore
Is there still appeal? Have we made it too onerous? Why would someone take it up now? I had been pondering. Yes. Marquee events have no issue attracting entrants. Middle Sea, Transpac, Cape to Rio, Fastnet, and Hobart all spring to mind instantly, but what of the ‘lesser' races? Lots of boats in pens (slips) a lot of the time

Night sailing, Transat Paprec, Congressional Cup
Night sailing, encountering light airs in the Transat Paprec, Congressional Cup We bundled up as the last of the rays sunlight dipped below the Olympic Mountains and night quietly fell on Puget Sound.
