Report from the final day of racing at the J80 Worlds, Santana in Spain.
The last race of the event confirmed the title winner. Not until the 12 races were completed was the World Champion decided.
The fight between Rayco Tabares and Gustavo Martinez was a fight that was likened to match racing; boat to boat, covering each other at the starting line, where Martinez took the advantage over Tabares by three boat lengths.
But Tabares did not miss the opportunity to find a gap in the fleet, crossing and giving him the opportunity of having free wind and keeping far from the bulk of the fleet.
The English boat Joystick skippered by Rob Larke, who was the best International competitor, ended up in 13th position just in front of the French Nantes Saint Nazare of Jean Queveau. The USA boat Jeffery Johnstone and his Jacuzzi finished in 27th position.
