On the day Australia welcomed the Spanish Royal Family, award-winning luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo has announced the appointment of Juan Carabel as the company’s dealer in Spain.
While the Royals were here for a three-day visit to lift Spain's profile in the Asia-Pacific region, Maritimo will soon be seen in the waters of the Med.
A Maritimo 48 Motoryacht will be delivered to Spain in time for the Barcelona Boat Show starting on November 7 this year.
'The design of Maritimo luxury boats is ideal for our market in the Mediterranean,' said Mr Carabel. 'Mr Barry-Cotter knows how to design and build boats for an international market.'
Luke Durman, Maritimo’s Marketing Director, said the appointment of Mr Carabel was an important step in developing the company’s presence in Europe.
'We have strong Dealers in Italy and the UK and Spain is strategically very important in developing the Maritimo brand in the Mediterranean,' he said.
Mr Carabel said his company had researched the world market for a boat to attract Spanish luxury boat owners.
'I know a lot about the Australian industry and have followed the progress of Bill Barry-Cotter and the development of Maritimo. The time is now right for us to introduce this great product in Spain.
'The fact that the Maritimos can cruise for long distances on the plane is a great benefit in Europe where fuel costs are very high,' he said.
