Personal EPIRBS for Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race

by Suellen Hurling on 19 Jun 2009
Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race - Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race Suellen Hurling

The 3rd Club Marine Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race (B2K) is only six weeks away which means skippers and crews are in the stages of organising the abundance of safety equipment required to race in a Category 2 event.

On the 31 July Personal EPIRB units are required to be carried by all crew whilst on deck for the duration of a Cat 2 race.

Peter Davidson from EPIRBhire has arranged a discounted offer for all B2K sailors to obtain a GME MT410G PLB or McMurdo Fast Find 211 PLB for the race therefore eliminating the need to purchase a unit outright.

'We will collect the information required by sailors to qualify for Category 2 safety requirements and provide the information to AMSA in the case of activation,' said Peter Davidson.

EPIRBhire has been hiring EPIRBs to Sydney to Hobart entrants for the last seven years.

The offer being made to B2K entrants is $55.00 per unit for two or more per boat. Information regarding the offer including the terms and conditions is available on the EPIRBhire website www.epirbhire.com.au.
