Welcome to Sail-World.Com's USA newsletter for 15 April 2009.

There was a flurry of mail yesterday into the various America's Cup postboxes. Some it was old, some new, some undelivered.

In this issue we have another in our Off the Record series, looking at the letters that have been sent, and anything that is new in them.

For those who enjoy the intrigue of the America's Cup, they are a good read.

For those more interested in what is going to happen next, there is the offer of a Meeting - yet to be accepted.

And there's the latest on Leg 6 of the Volvo Ocean Race, as they head for the gate off Fernando. Ericsson 3 is the first casualty of the leg.

Let's go inshore, and how, with the 16-foot skiffs. Great action, and superb sailing. We'd been in supermaxi, mini maxi, double hander and serious weather mode for what seemed like some time.
