The internationally acclaimed Marten 49 will make its Queensland debut at the 2009 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show to be held on the Gold Coast from May 21st – 24th.

The uber-stylish cruiser-racer, constructed by Australian yacht builder Azzura Marine, has attracted clients from across the world including London, Germany and the Mediterranean through to Auckland, Sydney and Perth. This latest addition to the Marten fleet will mark the first to be built for a Queenslander and is undoubtedly set to impress.

Marten Yachts Brand Manager Jason Rowed says Queensland is an exciting market for the Marten brand. 'Marten’s innovative hydraulic lifting keel is perfectly suited to Queensland’s shallow waterways. In addition we are seeing more clubs impose draft restrictions in respect to marina berths, and this is something that can be easily overcome given the technology applied to the Marten build,' he adds.

A popular cruising destination, the sunshine state hosts a number of international events in which the Marten range regularly competes. Proving her race pedigree and wow-ing spectators with her stunning profile, the prestigious yacht brand has developed a reputation for quality, innovation and luxury.

New Brisbane-based Marten 49 owner and proprietor of Ocean Dynamics, a charter yacht company, has confirmed the premium quality of the Marten brand by adding her to his operating charter fleet. Offering the luxury boat charters, prospective clients will be given the opportunity to experience the sheer exhilaration of Marten sailing. Aptly named Ocean Affinity, the latest Marten 49 will be available for charter from Hamilton Island and Moreton Bay on Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef later this year.

An experienced sailor and Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron member, the new Marten 49 owner says he was initially drawn to the sleek lines of the stylish Marten 49 before discovering the unique benefits of the performance-cruiser. 'The Marten 49 is not only a great looking yacht, but her impressive features allow for greater flexibility and manoeuvrability, ensuring optimal performance and adding to the overall enjoyment of sailing,' he explains.

Marten Yachts is currently preparing for the world launch of the highly anticipated Marten 67, a unique, semi customised vessel offering enhanced luxury without compromising performance. Set to follow the success of sister ship Marten 49, Marten 67 (hull 2) is being customised to produce a Marten 68 as per owner preferences and is bound for the Caribbean upon delivery.

Pioneering the evolution of carbon yacht construction, Marten Yachts adapts advanced technologies to produce the ultimate dual purpose vessel. Built to the highest standards and distinctive in character the Marten range includes the Marten 49, Marten 67, Marten 72 and Marten 85.
