Despite their end to end win, in the Final of SailGP Bermuda, Spain was hard pushed by the New Zealand team, with the dominant team of Seasons 1-4, Australia always ready to pounce.

Their best play came at Gate 3, as the New Zealand crew came in fast from the starboard boundary, with right of way. The Spanish came in from the port side of the course and set to be caught at the mark. But with a perfectly judged tack, the Spanish kept clear of the Kiwis in the tack, gave them the required room, and got their port bow across the 50 metre zone around the gate mark.
