Sailing World give best value tag to Beneteau 36.7
by Jasmin Lauric on 22 Feb 2002
Designed by Bruce Farr and the Beneteau design office, the 36.7 was inspired by the world wide success of her big sister, the First 40.7 .
The Sailing World judges awarded the B.O.T.Y. - Best Value to the Beneteau First 36.7 based on her incomparable value, impeccable design, sailing performance and comfort.
The 36.7 comes well equipped for her price tag, with standards such as Sparcraft rig, sail drive diesel, top-of-the-line Harken and Lewmar hardware and Edson CDI steering. Judges were particularly impressed with the spacious cockpit layout with removable lockers, innovative removable salon table, and luxurious comfort below.
The First 36.7 arrived in Australia prior to Christmas and has all the makings of an excellent racer-cruiser.
Brendan Hunt, Managing Director of Vicsail Pty Limited, exclusive importer and distributor of Beneteau yachts into Australia and New Zealand, commented
'Winning the B.O.T.Y - Best Value award is extremely positive and sets a new standard for Beneteau in producing top-notch performance racers. The 36.7 for us is a natural progression and logical development of where we're heading with the First range. She's a quick performance boat that comes complete with all of the comfort that one is accustomed to, aboard a Beneteau yacht.'
