Asia's newest and smartest boating magazine, YACHTstyle, continues parent company Edipresse Group's tradition of winning awards by taking first place for Design and Layout Excellence at the Asian Publishing Awards for 2008.

The winners were officially announced at a gala dinner held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore. Barrie C. Goodridge, Edipresse Asia Publisher and CEO collected the award for YACHTstyle. 'With over 200 entries from 79 companies in 22 countries, this is an award to be proud of,' Mr Goodridge said.

'YACHTstyle is just six issues old but has already won the loyalty of the boating public,' said Suzy Rayment, Managing Editor of YACHTstyle. 'We have been receiving extremely positive feedback from boat enthusiasts and others in the boating field, as well as top-tier advertisers who told us they have found their strongest media partner in YACHTstyle.'

The judges noted that 'YACHTstyle is a meticulously edited publication. Its modern and energetic layout makes good use of panoramic shots, sweeping typography and generous use of colour. The no-nonsense feature spreads with solid typography gave the magazine a fresh look, as well as a touch of class.'

YACHTstyle Creative Director Davide Butson-Fiori added, 'This is a dream project, as it brings together all the things that I love: sailing, design and fashion.'

Issue SIX is out now and features tropical sailing in luxury spa resorts (Six Senses Phuket Raceweek), Gitana 13’s historic Tea Route Challenge, and the high flying action of the Extreme 40 catamarans. Fashion and boating come together on the Sunseeker Predator 72, and the ABCs of sailing are spelt out for first-time sailors. Practical boating tips take the reader through the art of anchoring, and Vancouver is the boating destination of choice this month.

YACHTstyle is now available in yacht clubs, key commercial outlets, and leading bookstores and newsstands in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. It can also be found online at www.yachtstyleasia.com.
