The Pegasus Airlines Surf ’n Sound sports and music festival hits Alaçati, Turkey, where the fastest windsurfers in the world will go head to head in a battle for crucial points in the penultimate battle of the 2008 season.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Mediterranean’s premier sport and music festival, the Pegasus Airlines Surf ‘n Sound, will be held at one of Europe’s finest windsurfing locations in Alaçati, Turkey.

Pegasus Airlines is the proud title sponsor of the event, and their 'Flying Horse' logo will adorn the sails of the legendary PWA windsurfers.

Pegasus Airlines has made flying easy, based on the principles of being safe, economic and flying right on time, and is reinforcing its youthful and dynamic image by sponsoring the PWA World Cup.

The 5th stop on the 2008 PWA Slalom tour will be organized by Sportworks, on behalf of the Turkish Sailing Federation and under the specified conditions laid down by PWA for its elite level ratification, with the best men and women’s racers worldwide competing for the enticing € 45K prize purse.

Having already organized numerous windsurfing events, including two PWA World Cups, the Turkish Sailing Federation and Sportworks are proud to host another major windsurfing event in Turkey again.

Amongst the top names lured to Alaçati are current tour leader and World Champion, Antoine Albeau (Starboard, NeilPryde), former World Champion and tour runner up, Kevin Pritchard (Starboard, Gaastra, Dakine, MFC). Current number three, Bjorn Dunkerbeck (T1, North Sails), alongside hungry rivals Cyril Moussilmani (Fanatic, North Sails) and Peter Volwater (F2, North Sails), all of whom will be keen to stake their claim in the scintillating title race.

They'll be joined by the very the best in the women's game, such as tour leader Karin Jaggi (F2, North Sails), who’ll be trying to fend off advances from the likes of tour number two, Lee Korzitz, and 2007 runner up Valerie Ghibaudo (Tabou, The Loft).

Homegrown talent will also represent the host nation. The best Turkish Women windsurfers such as Çagla Kubat (Starboard, North Sails), Lena Erdil (Loft Sails) and Gül Tercan will compete alongside Turkish stars and PWA regulars Bora Kozanoglu (Starboard), Enes Yilmazer (JP, NeilPryde), and Ali Palamutçu in the men’s fleet.

Pegasus Airlines Sport ‘n’ Music Festival will also host a plethora of musical activities during the event, with Power FM’s DJ’s spinning tunes day and night. Adding to the colorful backdrop, the AXE girls will be on hand to keep the crowd pumped up should their energy levels falter.

The PWA World Cup will start on 11th August with registration, and end on 16th August with a medal and closing ceremony. On 15th Surf’n Sounders will enjoy the DJ Funky C, and on the closing day of the World Cup, after the medal ceremony there will be a Punch concert at the competition area.
