Kinloss pipe band gave a rousing performance at the opening cerimony of the National 18ft Class Championships in Findhorn. Opening welcome came from Robin Miller of RFYC and sponsorship is by Benromach Whisky, locally produced by Gordon and Macphail.
Light winds challenged the sailor boat handling skills for the first three races of this week long competition.
The second days sailing sadly ended dramatically with the capsize and snapping of mast on RFYC boat Howling Gael helmed by James Gibb. Thankfully no human injuries were sustained and tallented hands rallied round on shore to fix the damage for the next days sailing.
