Fuerteventura Kitespeed Grand Slam- Day 3
by Markus Schwendtner on 21 Jul 2008
Racing at the Fuerteventura Kitespeed Grand Slam day two brought the conditions everybody hoped for: 25-30 knots, with flat water in the beginning and quite a big chop in the second leg.
Top Speed of the day was set by Sebastien Cattelan (FRA) with 39.26 knots, an impressive speed for this conditions. But it was another Frenchman who took the overall lead, as Catman only finished third in round two. Alex Caizergus is leading the overall ranking now, and is also clear ahead in the world championship race. In third is Chrstophe Prin-Guenon now, ahead of Robert Douglas and Chris Dick.
In the ladies fleet, Charlotte Consorti (FRA) took two bullets and is clearly ahead of Sjoukje Bredenkamp (RSA) now. Katja Roose in third.
The forecast for tomorrow looks even better than today, and the race committee plans for three legs then, if the conditions are suitable.
The race can be followed live until the 23rd of July, as all competitors are equiped with special tracking devices. The link to the Championchip Live Tracke is available at www.speedworldcup.com.
