Australia's leading distributor of marine electronics, JN Taylor & Co. Ltd t/a Furuno Australia and Taylor Marine has joined forces to represent Maretron in Australia. Maretron's products are designed to the open industry NMEA 2000® standard. The benefits of N2K are very impressive and yet easy to install, understand and operate. Maretron integrates seamlessly with a wide array of instruments.

Maretron's President Rich Gauer, visited Australia early in May to conclude the Australian distribution agreement with JN Taylor.

Although on a very tight schedule, the opportunity of having one of the architects of NMEA 2000® in Australia was seized and Rich was introduced to a few of the Gold Coast production builders. The NMEA 2000® concept, the technology and the Maretron product range was very well received with one builder placing an order on the same day. Not to waste any time, an enthusiastic group of technical dealers and JNT sales staff were treated to a half day Maretron product range induction in both Brisbane and Fremantle.

The benefits of NMEA 2000® are very impressive and yet easy to install, understand and operate. What makes Maretron attractive to boat builders is that the system is compatible with all open standard NMEA 2000® devices. The boat owner is no longer limited to just one brand of marine electronics but rather the open standard allows for navigation data, engine data, tank levels and many more devices to be displayed and shared around the vessel in a very user-friendly manner.

The product that received the greatest interest was no doubt the very impressive N2KViewer software. Whether you are interested in monitoring your vessel's systems while underway or remotely from your home or office, Maretron's N2KView software displays the information you need including engines, gensets, tanks, rudders, navigation instruments, local weather, electrical systems and more.

Maretron's products are designed to the open industry NMEA 2000® standard. Along with vessel-wide information sharing, NMEA 2000® features reduced wiring complexity via a single trunk cable, and more than 20 times the bandwidth of previous technology. The NMEA 2000® network also seamlessly integrates a wide array of instrumentation electronics including:

Desktop or laptop computer-based navigational software
GPS receivers, electronic compasses, and other navigational devices
Depth, speed, and wind transducers.

Maretron offers a complete line of NMEA 2000® cable and connectors. The cable includes both power and network signals for reliable, waterproof interconnectivity of all your networked electronics. Maretron is leading the way by being the first company to offer NMEA 2000® approved cable and connectors.

Maretron's corporate philosophy is driven by engineers who understand the need for world-class standards in designing high-performance navigational products. Maretron tests and certifies all products to the IEC 60945 standard for Maritime Navigational and Radio communication Equipment and Systems. Maretron's commitment to superior engineering and maximum accuracy means continuous reliability for all Maretron products.

Maretron's products are engineered to withstand the harshest marine conditions. All electronics is carefully protected - even below-deck equipment - in watertight housings to ensure years of reliable performance. Superior engineering, maximum accuracy, consistent reliability: three reasons why Maretron's products are among the best worldwide.
