World Environment Day
Hosted by the Ministry for the Environment, June 5th celebrated World Environment Day, themed with reducing carbon emissions to help reduce the impacts on global warming. Many events were held over the week, including Tourism Auckland's beach clean up at four locations on Motuihe Island. Supported by 360degrees Discovery who transported the 20 adults, who scour the shores of this unique conservation island, the group was amazed at the 16 bags of rubbish collected for this offshore bush environment. It's still evident there is more work to be done!
Schools and communities are still active in the first month of winter as beach clean ups continue despite grey and wet days.
Green tip for the month
Since we have been having difficulties with our server, its opportune to mention how computer servers chew through a lot of energy. The more files saved, the longer back up will take using lots of energy. So spring clean your files and save the earth.
Kind regards, Vicki, Laura and Lisa
