The Longtze Premier team was at the 13th edition of the China International Boat Show, 10-13 April. A production series boat was on display and the Longtze Class Rule were officially unveiled.
The Longtze Premier was present, alongside Zou Inter Marine, on the China Yachting Business Partnership stand, covering 100 sq m of floor-space in the sportsboat sector. The team presents the new Longtze Premier production series and one of the boats is on display.
'Today, the Shanghai Boat Show is an enormous event. There are 400 exhibitors and people from around the world; it is very impressive. When I came here two years ago, there were no more than 40 exhibitors. And in two years, the boat show has become much bigger, more professional; the Chinese products have evolved much more. There are some very nice looking boats, a very beautiful design quality everywhere, it is nothing like what I experience before and the change is unbelievable. From our side, we have received a tremendous welcome. Our yellow boat is very noticeable from a distance, and we have had excellent contacts with Australians, Koreans, and people from all over Europe. On the Chinese side, the boat evokes a great deal of curiosity and pride. We have also had quite a few compliments from nautical professionals on our choice of design and materials used. In short, it is truly sensational.' explains Thierry Barot
Longtze Premier is a high-tech trendy sport boat. Whether sailing for recreation, racing, or sharing some great moments with friends, Longtze Premier will offer you a combination of excitement, simplicity, reliability and performance. This new sport boat is a true roadster of the sea, produced in Qingdao, and benefits from all the technology evolving from the first Chinese America’s Cup Class boat. Extremely fast with very complete equipment, the boat offers exceptional performance along with ease of use and high level of hardware equipment.
After a series of regattas in China and in South East Asia on the three prototypes produced by Longtze Yachts, the production of Longtze Premier was launched on 1st February 2008 with a schedule of four boats per month. Boats have already been ordered in Malaysia (by the Malaysian Sailing Federation), in Hong Kong and in mainland China and will be part of the long term programme in the region. Meanwhile Longtze Premier has found a welcome reception in Europe. The first nine boats of the series have already been bought by owners in Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, and Switzerland. They will sail on European waters starting this coming springtime, in a regatta circuit managed by the class.
The construction and utilization of Longtze Premier in regattas are encompassed by a strict class rule which was unveiled at the Shanghai boat show. The intention of these rules is to ensure the boats are as identical as possible in construction, hull shapes, weight distribution, equipment, rigging, sail plan and also to ensure fair racing.
Two regatta circuits for the Longtze Premier series are actually in place: the Asian circuit (China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore) and the European circuit (Germany, France, Belgium, and Spain). The objective is to establish Longtze Premier circuits in the United States and the Middle East during this year, 2008.
