The 2025 Swan One Design Worlds, the flagship event of the ClubSwan Racing Nations League, concluded today in Porto Cervo after an unforgettable week that brought together 35 yachts across four one-design classes and over 30 nations.
Organized by Yacht Club Costa Smeralda YCCS in collaboration with ClubSwan Racing, the event once again demonstrated the unique blend of high-performance sport and vibrant community that defines the world of ClubSwan.
The regatta featured the ClubSwan 50 World Championship, along with strong and growing fleets in the ClubSwan 42, ClubSwan 36, and ClubSwan 28 classes. For the youngest fleet, the week marked a historic milestone with the first awarding of the ClubSwan 28 Gold Cup. The moment was made even more meaningful by the presentation of the new ClubSwan 28 Perpetual Trophy during the Opening Ceremony, a symbol of prestige for the class' future.
The German yacht Earlybird clinched the ClubSwan 50 World Championship title with one race to spare. Owner Hendrik Brandis, beaming as he returned to the dock surrounded by his crew, declared: "We are incredibly happy to finally be crowned ClubSwan 50 Class World Champions! We've been striving toward this goal for many years, ever since the Class was founded. We've come in second place three times, but had never quite made it to the top — until now. This year, everything came together perfectly: a fantastic team, ideal conditions, and a flawless performance. We're absolutely thrilled and ready to celebrate!"
Brazilian Haakon Lorentzen's Mamao reconfirmed as ClubSwan 36 class champion for the third time.
In the ClubSwan 42 class, José Maria Meseguer's Spanish team aboard Pez de Abril—a veteran of the class—secured the title with one round to spare.
The brand-new one-design ClubSwan 28 delivered a spectacular performance at sea, proving to be both a high-performance and fun boat.
In the inaugural Gold Cup for the class, Japan's Keisuke Suzuki, with multiple world champion and Olympic gold medalist in the 470 class Will Ryan calling tactics, claimed victory aboard Swing. It was a hard-fought win, with YCCS member Philippe Ligot's Marcello taking second place and American Al Ramadan's Play Bigger rounding out the podium.
Also notable in the ClubSwan 28 fleet was Nox Oceani - YCPR, racing with a very young and promising crew. The boat was helmed by thirteen-year-old Giorgio Nosella, who impressed with his maturity and strong racing instincts.
The event ended with the traditional and well-attended awards ceremony in Piazza Azzurra, in front of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.
Andrea Recordati, Commodore of YCCS, stated:"The relationship between Nautor Swan and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda is a special one. Just last year, during the Rolex Swan Cup, we celebrated the 40th anniversary of our fruitful collaboration. I would like to thank all the competitors for their presence here in Porto Cervo, and Nautor Swan for choosing us to host this edition of The Nations League - Swan One Design Worlds, which also marked the debut of the first-ever Gold Cup for the ClubSwan 28. Our racecourse once again offered a range of conditions over the four days—from light breezes to the Mistral—making the event both complete and engaging. Congratulations to the winners and to all who took part. We look forward to welcoming you back for the Rolex Swan Cup 2026."
Throughout the week, sailors, families, and partners were treated to a full program of exclusive onshore events. From the Welcome Cocktail and class dinners to the Owners' Dinner at YCCS and today's Prize Giving in Piazza Azzurra, the experience celebrated not only competition, but the camaraderie and lifestyle that make the Nations League so unique.
Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Swan said: "Congratulations to all the winners, and sincere thanks to all the participants who made this event possible. A heartfelt thank you to Yacht Club Costa Smeralda for the warm hospitality and impeccable organization. It is always a pleasure to collaborate, and we look forward to working together again on the 2026 edition of the Rolex Swan Cup, to once more experience the beauty and timeless charm of this unique place."
The Swan One Design Worlds in Porto Cervo once again underscored the growing strength of the Nations League and the evolving legacy of the ClubSwan movement, a global community where tradition and innovation sail side by side.
Next stop will be at the end July (24 - 26) on Lake Garda for the Swan Lake Garda Challenge dedicated only to ClubSwan 28, then the Copa del Rey in Palma de Mallorca from July 28 to August 2 where the ClubSwan 42, and the brand new ClubSwan 43 will be racing among the numerous fleet of the classic Spanish midsummer event.
