The exclusive Powerboat P1 World Championship Annual Awards Dinner took place in London's West End on Saturday evening, attended by more than 200 guests from across the globe.

The evening began with Powerboat P1's Managing Director, Jim O'Toole, welcoming guests and outlining plans for the 2008 season, including an exciting mix of new and established venues spanning three continents.

The awards ceremony, with TV presenter Tiff Needell acting as Master of Ceremonies, followed dinner; a 4 course meal served in the elegant surroundings of the Ballroom at the Landmark Hotel, Marylebone. The most moving moment of the evening was the presentation of a new trophy, the 'Spirit of P1', awarded in memory of Sergio Carpentieri and accompanied by a minutes applause. When the awards ceremony was completed the guests were entertained by a live tribute band, the party continuing into the early hours.
