City Index Leopard is the third yacht Britisher Mike Slade has brought down under to try and take line honours in the southern hemisphere classic the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
Fresh from smashing the previous Rolex Fastnet Race record, Slade and his international crew, including a number of Australians, are quietly confident they can come between Wild Oats XI and an historic third line honours win.
However City Index Leopard is not just a stripped out racing hull. She has been thoughtfully designed by Farr Yacht Design, with a complete cruiser modular fit out which can be put back into the boat between races for charter sailing.
Weighing up to 15 tonnes more than the lighter weight 30m maxis, Slade is hoping for hard running and reaching race.
