His Majesty Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin’s 'Royal Standard' triumphed at the Coronation Cup after one and half day of competition.

The surprise performer was the Pride Angels team comprising breast cancer survivors, which finished a strong fourth. This feat was all the more remarkable as they beat a field of male participants.

The final rankings are as follows:

1. Royal Standard 4 point
2. TMKN Endurance 9 points

4. Pride Angels 1 13 points
5. Air Asia 14points
6. Kencana Petroleum 16 points
7. Wind Dancer 18points
8. Tourism Malaysia 20 points

Out of the original 15 teams, only the top eight teams qualified for the final round of sailing.

It was another beautiful day for sailing with wind moderately strong and sunny weather. All participants were guided by experienced sailors to ensure proper technique and safety precautions were adhered to.

According to Monsoon Cup Race Advisor and four-time world Match Racing Champion Dato` Peter Gilmour: 'It was a tight race today with strong competition from all sides so we are happy to have helped Royal Standard win the Coronation Cup. I am sure next year; it will be another hard-fought race with increased participation. I was honoured His Majesty sailed with us today'
