Seawind Catamarans has appointed The Finish Line, of Stuart, Florida, as its new South-East Region dealer in the US.

Strong interest at the Miami boat show earlier this year fuelled demand for local representation, Seawind’s managing director, Richard Ward, says.

'After winning Cruising World magazine awarded the Seawind 1160 as Best Multihull and Most Innovative sailboat, we’ve been inundated with calls and emails on both the 1160 and the Seawind 1000,' he says. 'Now with The Finish Line representing us, customers in the South East will have a local sales and service contact with extensive multihull experience.'

The Finish Line, long recognised for service to performance multihulls in that part of the US is excited about representing Seawind’s line of cruising cats.

'We’ve been looking for a performance-oriented cruising cat to fill out our offering, and the Seawind 1000 and 1160 are a perfect fit,' The Finish Line’s president, Steve Marsh, says.

The Finish Line of the Treasure Coast Inc, established in 1987, provides enthusiast mariners with full sales, service and repair facilities, and supplies marine equipment and accessories.

The company also offers demonstration rides, indoor and outdoor displays, a fully equipped service department and experienced sales staff.

Located in the centre of Florida’s Treasure Coast, The Finish Line can cater for all aspects of marine life – from recreation and cruising to high-performance racing.

'We strive to provide customers with knowledge, products and service that best suit our customers – all the while helping them to maintain great boat performance for greater fun and enjoyment,' Marsh says.

Not only because it includes the Commodore of the RORC, but because it combines two Brits and two Aussies.

Some thoughts on provisioning for distance sailing
A new perspective on provisioning and time spent at sea One of the great joys of distance racing unfurls the moment that the dock lines are untied. Suddenly, the myriad packing lists that inevitably define most trip-planning efforts become about as relevant as a tax return from eight years ago.
