Raising the bottle - International Marine Brokers Int. Tornato Assoc
Vicki Salmon and Michael Hayton launched their new Bavaria 37 yesterday - just in time for a summer of cruising. She’s the third B37 in the country and will be berthed in the new marina at Orakei.
Once the champagne had been cracked over the boat, another bottle was opened for the family and their friends to toast safe sailing and fun in Spirito ß. She joins the growing number of Bavarias on the waters around New Zealand and judging by the keenness of the family, she’ll soon be out exploring the sailing grounds around the Hauraki Gulf.
It’s a team effort to put a new boat in the water and International Marine Brokers are grateful to all the contractors and suppliers who work together to make it happen. Once the boat is lifted out of its cradle by the Viaduct Harbour travel lift, the last bit of anti-foul can go onto the area underneath the keel. The new boat is then carefully held in the lift slings for the launching ceremony, before being lowered into the water for the first time.
It has been four and a half months from placing the order with International Marine Brokers to launch. The Haytons are delighted.
