Tim Fells, the World President of the B14 Class Association and his crew Shaun Barber today won the 2007 B14 CST/North/Ovington World Championship. The experienced British duo, who won the 2004 World titles, came home strongly winning three of the last four races. In all they had six wins out of the 10 races sailed off Falmouth on the Cornish coast.

In second place were Melbourne sailors Guy ‘Bangers’ Bancroft and James Patterson, who sailed a consistent regatta but just did not have the speed to sail through their British rivals.

Had it been a non drop regatta, they would have won handsomely, their best placing was second but their worst was an eighth.

The two Macrae Yacht Club sailors best result prior to this regatta was a third in 2003, and they are no doubt hoping to jump one place at the 2008 B14 Worlds in Hobart.

In third place were Britishers Chris Bines and Dave Gibbons, up one place from the 2006 World when they finished fourth.

The series was dominated by the British. There were two Australian teams in the top ten, Richie Reynolds and Lissa McMillan placed eighth.

It was a big night at the Restronguet Sailing Club last night but we trust the offical event reporter, a Mr.T.Fells, will surface in due course and provide a blow by blow report on the final races.
