In recent weeks, the first five of a new network of RS Academies have been created, offering sailors the opportunity to train in an RS.

LDC Racing Sailboats are forming partnerships with high standard RYA-approved centres, staffed by RYA-qualified professional instructors, to create high-quality sail training venues across the UK.

As Dan Jaspers, RS Corporate Sales and Support, comments, 'this is a great opportunity for RS – one of the top manufacturers of sailing dinghies in the UK – to develop the relationship between sailboat manufacturer and the training provider, by ensuring a consistently high standard of equipment'.

The wide variety of courses that are offered at the individual sail-training centres are coupled with the breadth of the RS range to offer a unique opportunity for the sailor to find the perfect course in the most appropriate boat. For many Centres who already have an RS fleet, such as Portsmouth Outdoor Centre, gaining RS Academy is a natural progression.

Paul Rivington, at POC, states that becoming an RS Academy seemed 'logical, linking a move that makes commercial good sense with corporate, product training, and promotional support from RS'.

As Paul comments, 'Portsmouth Outdoor Centre is pleased to be working in partnership with LDC Racing Sailboats on this scheme.'

The network of RS Academies is steadily growing throughout the United Kingdom – to find your local RS Academy, follow the RS Academy link on www.rssailing.com.
