Finishing with a good rank once again and starting into the Louis Vuitton Cup with self-confidence – that is the main goal of the United Internet Team Germany for today’s race day of the Louis Vuitton Act 13.
Right now the German team is on the eighth place of the ranking table, ahead of Victory Challenge and Areva Challenge. Reaching rank seven seems to be almost impossible because Team Shosholoza is ahead with eleven points. But the German team will fight to finish this Act with a strong performance.
The weather forecast announces an unpleasant day for the sailors: Extensive clouds and rain dominate the day. The wind around ten knots is coming from the North and will later go down to seven to ten knots from the East. The first fleet race of the day starts at 2.15 pm, the second race starts right after at 4.30 pm. On the last day of Act 13 the United Internet Team Germany starts with the following crew:
Skipper: Jesper Bank (DEN)
Taktician: David Dellenbaugh (USA)
Navigator: Philippe Mourniac (FRA)
Strategist: Conan Hunt (NZL)
Bow: Jean-Marie Dauris (FRA)
Second Bow: Michael Müller (GER)
Mast: Markus Koy (GER)
Pit: Henrik Blakskjær (DEN)
Floater: Jan Schoepe (GER)
Grinder: Oliver-Sven Buder (GER, 1st race), Henrik Norberg (SWE), Fredrik Green (SWE), Henning Sohn (GER), Dominik Neidhart (SUI, 2nd race)
Trimmer: Matti Paschen (GER), Carsten Schon (GER), Mike Mottl (AUS), Thomas Jacobsen (DEN)
