Day 3 - Excellent sailing conditions for SAR Palma

by S-W UK/Aus on 4 Apr 2007
Star class day 3 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía 2007 Nico Martinez http://www.nicomartinez.com
Finally today a good day of racing at theTrofeo Sofia. Sun and good wind conditions (West 11 to 18 knots) made it possible for all classes to complete the schedule of races, except for the Laser and Laser Radial that saw the first start of the day delayed due to the extreme shifting wind conditions in the racing area.

Many protests lodged in all Clubs confirming the tension of a pre-Olympic year in which the Sofia is a selection event for most Olympic teams

Aussie Tornado Champs Darren Bundock and Glenn Ashby are still in first place and Brendan Casey has moved up to third in the Finns. In the Laser Standard class a win to Tom Slingsby has edged him ahead of Michael Blackburn in the standings.

Top Australian competitors are placed as follows:

470 Men:
Nathan Wilmot/Malcolm Page 15th, Mathew Belcher/Nick Behrens 25th

49er:

Finn:
