by Farr 40 European Press Office on 31 Mar 2007
Farr 40 European Fleet SW
European Fleet Manager Enrico Isenburg officially presented the Farr 40 European Circuit 2007 to journalists in Milan yesterday during the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda’s annual press conference.

The Circuit will consist of five series and will be followed by the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship to be held in Denmark at the end of August. The European fleet currently consist of around forty boats, including current World Champion Vincenzo Onorato with his Mascalzone Latino Capitalia team. Overseas owners will also be welcome to compete in European circuit events as guest members of the fleet.

The Rolex Capri Sailing Week, from 16th to 19th May, marks the first series of the European Circuit and is organized by the Yacht Club Capri and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda on the island of Capri. The fleet then head to Porto Cervo, Sardinia for the Rolex Settimana delle Bocche from 6th to 9th June. The 'Settimana', organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, constitutes the second series of the European Circuit as well as the European Championship 2007.

Looking forward to the Sardinian event Mascalzone owner Onorato commented: 'The Farr 40 is the most beautiful boat in the world and Porto Cervo is the most beautiful place in the world for racing. Does a better combination exist?'

July sees the fleet in Hanko, Norway for the Farr 40 Open Nordic Championship, the third leg of the circuit, organized by the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club. July concludes with the penultimate series of the circuit, set to be held in Denmark: the Dexia Farr 40 Skagen Race hosted by the Royal Danish Yacht Club from 12th to 14th. The fifth and final series will take place in Neustadt, Germany from 17th to 19th August as part of the Rolex Baltic Week, organized by the Norddeutsche Regatta Verein.

With the European Circuit completed owners and crews will set their sights on the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship 2007 which this year will be held in European waters. The Royal Danish Yacht Club will once again host a strong fleet of Farr 40s in Copenhagen with competitors expected to attend from America, Australia, Europe and South America.
