If you just can’t DO with the hassle of driving your car to the shore, then launching your dinghy to get to your boat – or some version of that – you could think of a Sealegs amphibious boat as a solution. Imagine leaving home and driving straight to the stern of your anchored or moored sailing boat or power boat!
The company cannot keep up with the demand, forcing them to move to bigger and better factories continually. The next move is scheduled for March 2007. And where is the company?
In the middle of one of the biggest and richest yacht markets? – Caribbean? Mediterranean? – no it’s in New Zealand, and they are being obliged to take out more and more patents to protect their intellectual property.
At the end of last year they had £3,000,000 in forward orders, and more than 80% of those were from international customers.
Although Sealegs moved to larger manufacturing premises in at the end of 2005, it has already outgrown its current production facilities in 12 months.
To cope with the increased demand and anticipated future demand, Sealegs is moving to a new 20,000 sq ft factory in March 2007. The new factory will increase current production space by four times.
