South Australian-based Hardy’s Secret Men’s Business (CYCSA) is the points leader in the Audi IRC Australian Championship series, following the first event of the 2007 Audi Sailing Sport Calendar at Skandia Geelong Week.

The boat will now proudly fly a set of orange Championship ‘Leader Flags’ until the next qualifying event at the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta on 3 and 4 March 2007.

Hardy’s Secret Men’s Business (a Reichel Pugh46) was the winner of the Audi IRC Series (Division 1) at Skandia Geelong Week this Australia Day long weekend.

Owner and skipper, Geoff Boettcher, was thrilled to be presented with the spectacular John Woulfe-designed perpetual trophy for the Audi IRC Series at Skandia Geelong Week, and says his crew will be proud to fly the orange Audi IRC Australian Championship Leader flags until the next qualifying event.

Following each regatta, the orange ‘Leader Flags’ will be passed onto the new Championship points leader to display in the spirit of the famed yellow jersey.

The Audi IRC Australian Championship is endorsed by Yachting Australia, and made up of four regattas, including Skandia Geelong Week (RGYC).

The next events include IRC races at the host clubs of the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta (MHYC) in March, the Audi Sydney to Gold Coast Regatta (CYCA) in July, with the final race being held during Audi Race Week at Hamilton Island (HIYC) in August.

To be in the race to win the Australian Championship, teams must compete in at least three out of these four events. The major prize will be an Audi vehicle.
