With the conclusion of the 2006 Rolex Sydney Hobart, the results of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia's Rolex Challenge have been determined with the three divisional winners of the Rolex Trophy Rating Series going on to finish at the top of the Challenge pointscore.

The Rolex Challenge is an individual pointscore which combines a boat’s Rolex Trophy Rating Series and Rolex Sydney Hobart IRC handicap results

Ray Roberts’ top placing in IRC Division 0 of the Rolex Trophy Rating Series followed up with a 15th overall in the Rolex Sydney Hobart with his Cookson 50 Quantum Racing has delivered him a divisional win in the Rolex Challenge.

Bob Oatley’s Wild Oats XI finished second in Division 0 of the Rolex Challenge.

In IRC Division 1 of the Rolex Challenge, Geoff Ross’ Yendys was the top scoring boat following a 0.1 point loss to Stephen Ainsworth’s Loki in the Rolex Trophy Rating Series and a 6th overall in the Rolex Sydney Hobart, the debut offshore race for the new Reichel/Pugh 55.

Second in IRC Division 1 went to Loki and third to Michael Hiatt’s Living Doll which retired from the Rolex Sydney Hobart with radio problems but scored well in the Rolex Trophy Rating Series.

The IRC Division 2 win went to Chris Dare’s Victorian Corby 49 Flirt which dominated its division in the Rolex Trophy Rating Series, winning half of the eight races sailed, and finished 32nd in the Rolex Sydney Hobart. Second in Division 2 of the Rolex Challenge was CYCA boat Nips n Tux skippered by Howard de Torres and third was Syd Fischer’s Ragamuffin.
