Bavaria 44 Vision launched in Auckland

by Jane Pares, International Marine Brokers on 13 Dec 2006
Bavaria 44 Vision "Claymoore" launch - lowered into the water for the first time International Marine Brokers New Zealand www.internationalmarine.co.nz

'Claymoore', the first Bavaria 44 Vision in New Zealand was launched last weekend by International Marine Brokers.

She is the first of her kind in the country and has consequently been receiving a lot of attention.

She’s the middle model in this new range of yachts from Bavaria, the others being a Vision 40 and a Vision 50. Standard features include a lead keel, spinnaker winches, twin steering wheels and a return to the classic L shaped galley at the bottom of the companionway. Head room down below is well over 6ft and with a beam of 4.4m there is a feeling of spacious luxury, normally associated with a much larger boat. The over 2m long deck saloon windows add to this feeling, bringing a very light and airy atmosphere to the saloon.

On deck, Bavaria has designed an attractive and practical transom seat that folds down to form a step onto the boarding platform and up to enclose the transom and complete the helmsman’s seat. The deep draft lead keel has been designed with a new profile for increased performance, which, combined with a larger sail area makes the Vision an attractive package for those looking for comfort and speed.

Design Data:

Hull length: 12.99m
Beam: 4.39m
Draft: 2m
Weight: 10,400kg
Engine: Volvo Penta D2 55hp
Approx sail area: 113m2
