New Zealand Match Racing Championships

Fantastic racing and what a final!  Many thanks to all the Umpires, Race Committee & Race Management who were involved, it takes a big team to run a National Championships and we are very grateful to each and everyone!

The members bar was packed with spectators and supporters – next up is Auckland Match Racing Cup, if you like fierce competition right on our front door step you wont want to miss it!

Auckland Match Racing Cup 2008 – 24 – 28 January

Entries so far:

Dean Barker is back to defend his title, Mathieu Richard (France), Ian Williams (GBR), Adam Minoprio, Eugeny Neugodnikov (Russia), Simon Minoprio, Brian Angel (USA)……three more to come – watch this space!

Racing begins at 1000hrs each day, make sure you get down to the club or watch from the grandstand in the carpark!

Wednesday Series – final race for 2006

It’s LOUD SHIRT NIGHT  Wednesday 13 December – next week

After racing, $10 BBQ in the Main Hall & DJ and party in the Dinghy Locker Bar.  Don’t forget your Loud Shirts!  Heaps of prizes!

Accommodation for International Teams

Auckland Match Racing Cup 23 – 29 January

We have five overseas teams looking for accommodation

1. Eugeny Neugodnikov - the Russian team are coming over earlier to do some training (approx 17 January) they are six people – 5 crew / 1 coach/manager.

2. Mathieu Richard (French team) – 5 crew

3. Ian Williams (GBR) 3 crew coming will sail with 2 kiwis

4. Brian Angel (USA) 3 crew coming

Youth International Match Racing Championships – 10 – 14 February

We will have 7 overseas teams coming for this event, 3 crew + 1 coach/manager (as the crews are all under 20 years of age).  If you have any space at home or if you have a boat at Westhaven Marina that the crews would be able to sleep on, please contact the Sailing Office – any help is greatly appreciated.
