The sleek new-look Riviera 41 Flybridge Convertible is certain to turn heads when it launches in March 2007.

Riviera’s Concept Design Manager Neil McCabe said: 'It’s an evolution of the styling we introduced with the new era Riviera 40 six years ago.

'There is a more robust look to the trailing edge flair between cabin and cockpit. We have enlarged the flybridge aft from similar-size previous models and the tinted windscreen has a new wrap-around look.

'Another innovation in the new Riviera 41 is the porthole in the hull, introducing more natural light into the starboard cabin.'

This two cabin, two bathroom Flybridge Convertible provides accommodation for five adults in the cabins and a further two adults on a optional trundle bed that tucks neatly under the saloon lounge.

The running surface and chines, designed in consultation with internationally renowned naval architect Frank Mulder, have been optimised for a soft and dry ride. Tunnels incorporated into the aft running surface provide reduced draft and propeller shaft angle for better performance while an underwater exhaust system helps to reduce fumes and engine noise.

A first for Riviera in this new model is the fact that the engine room vents are moulded into the hullside for a clean look while reducing routine maintenance.

The engine room features a gloss gelcoat-finish fibreglass liner for ease of maintenance. Standard power plants on the new 41 are Caterpillar C97diesel engines rated at 339kW/460hp each. Fuel capacity is 2,000 litres standard plus an option of a 535-litre forward tank.

An angler-friendly cockpit includes an innovative non-skid dot pattern on the sole, recessed toe-kicks, and an optional live bait well. Large removable storage bins (starboard and port) are under the cockpit sole. Wide, curved side deck steps are moulded into the coaming, maximising cockpit area.

In the flybridge, an ergonomically designed slimline helm station provides extra space for the forward area which features seating for up to six adults on a lounge to port and L-shape lounge starboard that has an optional in-fill day bed. In front of high-back helm and companion chairs, the helm station supports up to two 12' electronics display panels, a stainless steel Edson wheel and optional engine control unit configurations.

The low profile, reduced weight Light RTM (resin transfer moulding) hardtop includes removable panels underneath for access to wiring and to retrofit electronics and other equipment. Stainless steel hardtop supports with a new integrated rear rail are designed to provide good visibility from the helm.

A noticeable feature of the new 41 is the generous headroom throughout the interior of the Riviera 41, from the saloon forward to the accommodation space. The engine room, too, has generous head room.

The interior layout displays clean contemporary lines with timber cabinetry in a high gloss cherry finish. Timber accents with downlights run the length of the saloon above the side windows. A stainless steel overhead handrail is recessed into headliner that includes an electrically opening rod storage locker.

The L-shaped leather lounge on the port side aft quarter of the saloon faces a liquor cabinet with bottle and glass drawer storage, a bar fridge and timber benchtop.

Just one step down from the saloon, the galley features high quality Amtico flooring with an access panel to a large space below the galley. The contemporary solid surface benchtop includes a stainless steel sink and recessed two-burner electric cooktop with a solid surface cover and auto shutoff for added safety. Completing the comprehensive galley equipment are a convection microwave oven and a two-door refrigerator/freezer under the bench.

To starboard, the L- shaped dinette is on a slightly raised platform. The sliding hi-low table can be converted to a day bed with an infill cushion.

Moving down the companionway, the master cabin forward contains an island double bed with innerspring mattress. The base is hinged and supported by two gas struts so that the entire bed can be easily lifted to reveal a large storage space underneath. The overhead pigeon lockers feature mirrored fronts with concealed catches. Hanging lockers are cedar lined to keep stored clothing fresh.

In the master ensuite, the floor is high quality Amtico. A semi-recessed porcelain sink sits atop the solid surface benchtop and the vanity has below-bench storage. A frameless glass door leads to the large shower stall with a new non-slip tile pattern sole and a satin finished chrome shower pole and shower head.

Both bathrooms include a deck hatch with Mk 5 OceanAir blinds for privacy and to assist in keeping the accommodation area cool.

The light-filled starboard cabin with its porthole is equipped with twin fore and aft bunks plus a top bunk athwartships that discreetly slides away underneath wide storage lockers with feature mirrored fronts.

An optional washer / dryer combo unit, housed under the galley sole, is accessed from this cabin so that it does not to encroach on valuable cabin space.
