NEW- JGT 24s from Langkawi

by JG Boats on 11 Nov 2006
Straight out of the box - a new JGT 24 from JG Boats in Langkawi JG Boats, Langkawi
Located on the delightful island of Langkawi, Malaysia, JG boats has been developing and working away at number of new projects - one which should help get more of the local population out on the water. It’s the JGT 24, a purpose-designed and built 24 ‘sail training keelboat’

The JGT 24 is designed by Murray Burns Dovell, naval architects of Sydney Australia, in collaboration with Workforce Marine of Australia, who have provided the first eight yachts to the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Pittwater, Sydney. Timing for the introduction and launch of the JGT 24 is looking good, as the Malaysian yachting scene shows sign of increased enthusiasm and (importantly) government support going into 2007.

The JGT24 has modern lines and the real feel of a larger keel boat. She was primarily designed to provide a stepping stone for young dinghy sailors moving up to larger keel boats. The yacht has also been successfully used as a match racing, club racing and one design fleet racer, by both junior and senior sailors.

The design is very stable, with a lead keel bulb and cast iron keel fin (which is not only a safety factor, but also helps the boat keep pace with lager yachts upwind).

JG Boats team is headed up by Malaysia’s round the world sailor Dato Azhar Mansor and Australian Paul Scholten who has been involved with composite boat construction in Malaysia for a number of years. JG prides itself in developing and manufacturing high quality composite products for the marine market, but also is capable commercial composite products manufacturer.

Visitors are welcome at the JGT Langkawi factory. The factory is open Monday – Saturday 0830 – 1730 hrs. JG will have a full range of products & services at LIBEX boat show in Langkawi 24 November 2006.

Check out the website www.jgboats.com or info@jgboats.com for more information on the full range of products.
