Star Bacardi Cup 2006 Star Bacardi Cup http://www.bacardicup.com

Seventyfour teams will line up for the Wells Fargo Private Bank Star World Championship, taking place from 27 September to 8 October in San Francisco, USA. A fascinating entry list features a star studded role call of Olympic medallists, round the world sailors and match racing champions.

Reigning World Champions Xavier Rohart and Pascal Rambeau (FRA) face a formidable line up to defend their title, not least from Athens Olympic gold medallists Torben Grael and Marcelo Ferreira (BRA). Fellow Brazilian and double Olympic gold medallist in the Laser, Robert Scheidt (BRA) also lines up with crew Bruno Ptada.

Another Olympic champion and America's Cup helm will be representing Britain.

With an impressive record of gold and three bronze finishes in the last four years, Iain Percy and crewman Steve Mitchell will be looking for gold again this time round.

Greal's fellow Volvo Ocean Race skipper Paul Cayard (USA), sailing with crew Brian Sharp, is part of a massive USA entry which also includes world number one crew George Szabo and Eric Monroe (USA) and recent winners of the Olympic Test Event in Qingdao, Andy Horton and Brad Nichol (USA).

Australia meanwhile is represented by three crews, one of which features 2005 ISAF Match Racing World Champion and Luna Rossa helm James Spithall, sailing with Rodney Hagebols.
