Farr Open 60 Delta Dore now sailing in Cherbourg

The Farr designed Delta Dore Open 60 monohull was launched in Cherbourg, France today.

The IMOCA monohull will be skippered by Jérémie Beyou

The design descriptions says that she will perform well and be more powerful than the old Imoca Open 60 class generation. Safety is also one of the key features of its design. It will be slightly less wide than most of the current 60-foot Imoca monohulls.

The debut regatta for Jérémie Beyou and a second Farr IMOCA Open 60 for Vincent Riou’s new Farr Open 60s will be the 2006 Route de Rhum; a 3800
mile race which begins in St. Malo, France on October 29, 2006 and finishes in Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe.
