38th Semaine Olympique Française de Voile Day 2 and dual World Tornado Champions Australians Darren Bundock and Glen Ashby consolidated their lead in the Grade One Hyères regatta.

After a soft day yesterday, the breeze kicked in today and Race 3 started in 18 knots. Germany's Roland Gaebler lead from the start closely followed by Australian’s Darren Bundock and Glen Ashby and Spain’s Echavarri/Paz at the first mark.

The race turned out to be a three way shuffle, with Echavarri showing better pace on the final downwind to steal the race from Gaebler and then Bundock/Ashby.

Race 4 started in similar conditions however this time it was Bundock/Ashby that led from the start after starting at the bottom end of the starting line. Once again it was Echavarri/Paz that challenged for the lead.

Throughout the entire race the two boats were within four boat lengths, with the Australians managing to maintain the lead throughout the race and come ashore pleased with a very consistent day on the race track.

Bundock commented dockside ‘We are extremely happy to hold on and beat the heavier teams in a bit of breeze especially after doing so well yesterday in the lighter conditions'

Not such a great day for Austrian’s Roman Hagara and Hans Peter Steinacher who finished 13th in race three and capsized in race four and fell back to 12th overall.
