Historic C&N yard gets new name - Endeavour Quay

Marina Projects Limited, the Gosport based marina operators and international waterfront consultants, has taken a lease of the historic Camper & Nicholsons site from Beaulieu Properties LLP who recently purchased the premises from Finland’s Nautor Group. To be known as Endeavour Quay the site will offer lift out, storage and maintenance facilities for all types of craft.

The site will be operated by Marina Projects for the benefit of a broad range of commercial marine users and in support of the marine industry within the central south region of the UK. Undercover and open yard boat storage and commercial space will be available to marine companies and boat owners on flexible terms.

The expansion of Marina Projects in Gosport has been assisted by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) with a DTI National Business Support product, Selective Finance for Investment (SFIE) grant of £95,000. The project will create at least 5 new jobs within the Marina Projects group and will also ensure that the site continues to provide facilities for the marine sector.

The site provides some 4,250sq m of secure undercover space for boats up to 40m (130ft) in length and is served by a 180 tonne boat hoist and a dock area providing deep water access at all states of the tide.

Marina Projects operates the nearby Royal Clarence Marina and the Company is pleased to be able to expand its activities and services within Portsmouth Harbour. The superyacht and deep water berthing facilities available at Royal Clarence Marina will complement the boat lifting and servicing facilities provided at Endeavour Quay.

Commenting on the launch of Endeavour Quay, Mark Bowden, Operations Director of Marina Projects Limited, said:

'We are delighted to have an involvement in this famous yard and to ensure the tradition of marine related activity continues on the site. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of service to all our customers and to build the reputation of Endeavour Quay as a centre of excellence.

'We welcome enquires from marine companies both large and small who are seeking either additional space or to relocate. The facilities we can offer at Endeavour Quay are truly unique to the area and are ideal for a range of activities from new build to repair, maintenance and storage.'

SEEDA’S Executive Director for Business International, Jeff Alexander, said of the project:-

'I am pleased to hear that Marina Projects has taken up an SFIE grant to expand its operations in Gosport. This is the first time SEEDA has awarded an SFIE grant in Gosport and it is yet another example of developments underpinning the revival of urban South Hampshire.'
