Marina Paradise at Yachting Mecca

The tropical north Queensland haven of Airlie Beach, recognised as the gateway to The Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands, is the perfect stopover for travellers seeking easy access to the unspoilt destinations of the Coral Sea.

A major property development, Whisper Bay is located on a northern point to the west of the Airlie Beach Township, offering the last deep water, north facing waterfront position available.

One of the largest draw cards to Whisper Bay has been its unparalleled proximity to Abel Point Marina. The newly extended Abel Point Marina is the crown of Airlie Beach. Abel Point Marina offers mooring and boating facilities for all sized crafts up to 200 foot Super Yachts.

The current development of the marina will increase the size of Able Point Marina from 240 berths to over 500 berths on 21 hectares, making it one of the largest marinas in the Southern Hemisphere.

50 of these marina berths will be available for exclusive purchase on a 10+10 year lease to Whisper Bay residents.

With marina berths in short supply in Whitsunday's and on the Queensland coast in general, the value of a Marina berth attached to a Whisper Bay residence is set to substantially increase long term capital growth.

In addition to this development of additional marina berths, Abel Point Marina has also commenced development of a second commercial building. Construction of the 700 square meter administration building is scheduled to commence at the end of March, and will add to the existing precinct. This office space will be home to a collection of tour and reef operators, with future plans to develop restaurants and bars into the precinct.

A favourite facility of visitors to Abel Point Marina is Abel Point Marina Village. Nestled into the hill at the end of the Able Point Marina boardwalk is this retail and commercial centre for marina users, moored vessels and Airlie Beach visitors alike.

Incorporating an existing commercial complex, this retail centre offers an array of boating and sailing services, along with a café and convenience store and tour shop. Visitors to the marina can also take advantage of the fuel and gas, dive shop and sail maker, chandlery, brokerage and workshops.

Although Abel Point Marina does have plans to develop a wide scale retail centre, these plans remain in the distant, yet foreseeable future.
