The WSSR Council announces the ratification of a new World Record for the greatest distance sailed by a Monohull in 24 hours. It was sailed by Sebastien Josse and his nine crew on the Volvo 70 ABN Amro Two in the southern ocean on the way from Cape Town to Melbourne The record now stands at a distance of 562.96 nm with an average speed: 23.45 knots
