Paige Railey of the USA has taken the lead as the fleets split to Gold and Silver. Not such a good day for the British women at the third day of the Laser Radial Worlds in Fortaleza, Brazil.
Penny Mountford remains the best placed GBR but dropped to eighth overall, scoring a 12 and 14. Alison Young did better, a seventh and ninth putting her 12 overall. At the top of the leader board, Paige Railey (USA) and Petra Niemann (GER) have opened a nine-point lead over Sarah Blanck of Australia.
In the Men’s competition Briton’s Ben Paton had his best day so far, scoring a fourth and a second to place at sixth overall. This is 12 points behind the leader, Igor Lisovenko of Russia. The next four places are held by Brazilians, with Eduardo C de Magalhaes in second and Daniel Jakobsson in third.
With the fleets now split Gold and Silver, Briton’s Ross Harvey leads the Silver fleet.
