Harken Australia are very pleased to announce the addition of Ropeye to our Australian Distributor portfolio.

Originating in Estonia, and the brain child of Jaanus Tamme, Ropeye have established themselves as a world leader in soft attach padeyes, fairleads and through deck fittings. Their revolutionary technology has proven to be up to three times stronger and five times lighter than commonplace stainless steel alternatives, all the while maintaining durability and longevity due to high quality manufacturing and scientific testing under high loads and at various lead angles.

Ropeye offers solutions for most on-board soft attach applications, ranging from terminations for mastbase blocks and spinnaker turning blocks through to internal tie down padeyes and through bulkhead fairleads. The Ropeye track record speaks for itself, having been used on a wide variety of yachts, through the harshest of conditions including record breaking Ultime Trimaran Macif, the GC32 class, Mini Transat, Volvo Ocean Race and the Vendee Globe (including second place Hugo Boss).

Harken Australia’s Managing Director Grant Pellew states: “We are extremely pleased and proud to be able to offer Ropeye products exclusively to the Australian market. We feel this brand greatly complements our current range of products in Harken, Spinlock and Marlow Ropes, and can see large opportunities in the Australian market for what is an exceptional product line.”

“The past decade has seen a decisive shift toward the weight reduction and reliability of soft-attach options for both racing and cruising boats, and to be able to offer a tailor-made off the shelf product that boasts the technology and development that Ropeye does, the benefits will be seen across all facets of sailing in this country, whether it be a Sydney Hobart Race, or a leisurely cruise with the family.”

Ropeye products will be available from your local Harken Dealer in June 2017.

For more information, please visit www.ropeye.com, or speak to the team at the Harken Australia stall at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
