by Lindsay Lyons, RHKYC on 6 Oct 2004
The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is delighted to welcome VinaCapital as title sponsor of the Hong Kong to Vietnam Race 2004.
A Vietnam-based asset management and corporate finance specialist, VinaCapital recognises the impact that a bi-annual offshore race will have in Vietnam, both in terms of international exposure and in the development of sailing as a leisure sport.
VinaCapital is the investment manager of the Vietnam Opportunity Fund. Listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM), Vietnam Opportunity Fund's portfolio of investments includes banking, insurance, consumer good, education and property projects.
The Race Committee has accepted double handed entry Siren skippered by Ant Day. As the only double handed entry, Siren will race in the IRC Racing division against the likes of Grant Wharington's Skandia and Sam Chan's 1996 race record holder Ffree Fire.
